FLAGS FLYING HIGH TO PORTLAND IN SUPPORT OF THE OLYMPIC BID
The Back the Bid message has been boosted with a series of flags along the approach road to Portland. With the announcement date on the host city only a few months away, it is very important that we keep raising the awareness for London’s bid and the fact that Weymouth and Portland is the sailing venue. Graham Frampton, General Manager of Chesil Beach Holiday Park said 'Everyone at Chesil Beach is delighted to show support for London's bid to host the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games and to help improve the chance of bringing the sailing events to Weymouth and Portland. Our sailing waters are world renowned and it would be fantastic for them to play a key role, in what is described as ‘the world’s greatest sporting event’ whilst showing off the many natural attributes the area has to offer to International visitors”. The 5 remaining cities - London; Paris; Moscow; Madrid and New York are now counting down the days to Wednesday 6th July, when the host city will be announced in Singapore. Every click of support on the London 2012 website counts and can help make the dream of hosting the Olympic and Paralympic games a reality. Log on to www.london2012.com or text LONDON to 82012 and help bring the sailing to Weymouth and Portland.
