Discover Dorset and Beyond

There's so much to do on-park, you could easily spend every day of your holiday without leaving Waterside. But if you do venture out, you'll find loads to entertain, amuse and amaze the whole family.

Why not hop on the half-hourly bus into Weymouth?

From 9.00am to 7.00pm daily, the experienced drivers are there to shuttle you in and out of one of Dorset's prime beach resorts. A watersports paradise, Weymouth also has so much more to offer, including clean beaches, great eating out, a multiplex cinema showing the latest blockbusters, and the day-to-day bustle of local life, as fishermen land their catches of lobster and crab, and an Aladdin's Cave of small shops vie for the tourist trade.

it gets better and better ...

On top of all that, how about shark or piranha sightings to keep you on your toes? All this and more awaits you at Weymouth's renowned Sea Life Park. Back on dry land, Monkey World at Wool is always a firm family favourite, itself just five minutes by car from Bovington Tank Museum. Here you can see, touch and experience the machines - some you can even drive yourself. Note that joy riding is discouraged!

French, fossils and farmers...

Further afield, discover the market town treasures of Dorchester and, in Poole and Bournemouth, some of the best shopping outside London.

Or, for a real day-trip adventure, how about boarding the high-speed Condor catamaran ferry from Weymouth to the Channel Islands? Lying just off the French coast, Jersey and Guernsey offer a charmingly distinctive blend of France and Britain - and you don't even need a passport to visit.
